Wednesday links on mobile tech for development
Posted: November 12, 2009 Filed under: links | Tags: mobile Leave a commentWritings about the use and potential of mobile technologies for development that we particularly liked reading this week:
- India’s Rural Millions: Findings From a Six-Country Study of Teluse at the Bottom of the Pyramid data sheet
- Paul Meyer started Voxiva nine years ago and has been doing mobile data collection for health ever since. There’s a new interesting interview/introduction. It’s interesting to see a for profit in this space (and having basically created it) with proprietary solutions, not just giving away open source code and selling services.
- MobileActive also posts a review of Rwandan mobile health services, including Voxiva.
- And M-Pesa in Kenya (also in Afghanistan and elsewhere) is generating some followup research and thinking – and not just by the ever–keen Economist Newspaper.
